She completed her MBBS from Gandhi Medical College, followed by an MD in General Medicine from Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal. She further specialized with a DM in Nephrology from Sri Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati.

Dr. Lakshmi served as an Assistant Professor in Nephrology at SVIMS, Tirupati, from 2016 to 2017. Since 2018, she has been working as a Senior Consultant Nephrologist and Transplant Physician at Malla Reddy Narayana Multispeciality Hospital.
